The Pay Equity Office

The Pay Equity Office (PEO) administers the Pay Equity Act through two operational units.
Review Services
The Review Services Unit is the enforcement arm of the Pay Equity Office. Review Officers are assigned to investigate complaints of contravention of the Pay Equity Act or objections to pay equity plans or amended pay equity plans. The Officers have the authority to attempt to settle any disputes and if necessary, to make whatever order is necessary to bring parties into compliance. The Review Services Unit also conducts monitoring programs to determine gender wage gap levels and compliance levels in various sectors. Review Officers may be assigned to monitor the preparation and implementation of pay equity plans. To make a complaint or to file an objection, fill out an Application for Review Services. For an explanation of the process once an application is filed, go to filing an Application section.
Education and Communication Services
This Unit provides information, publications and training on all aspects of pay equity. Education Officers develop and design educational materials in various formats and deliver sessions to assist workplace parties at any step in the pay equity process. Check the training section of this website to register for any of our regularly scheduled free webinars or to arrange for a customized presentation.
