  9.   What amount in pay equity increases would Janet be entitled to?  

Janet works in a residence for children with developmental disabilities. She, and others doing the same job, are paid $8.00 per hour. Nobody in her workplace has ever received a pay equity adjustment. Janet knows employees in a similar agency who have a proxy pay equity plan, and who have received adjustments of $1.25 per hour, bringing their rate from $10.00 per hour to $11.25 per hour. Based on this information, what amount in pay equity increases would Janet be entitled to?
Janet is entitled to a rate of $11.25 per hour an increase of $3.25, as all broader public sector employers in the area must go to the same target rate.
Janet is entitled to an increase of $1.25 per hour, as all broader public sector employers in the area must give the same increases.
Janet is entitled to a pay equity increase. The exact amount will be set out in her employer’s proxy pay equity plan.
Janet’s entitlement, if any, will be set out in her employer’s pay equity plan, if it was required to do one.
