In 2011, the Pay Equity Office launched the Wage Gap Pilot Program, designed to examine current compensation data and assess the likelihood of gender wage gaps for non-unionized employees in private sector workplaces of Ontario. Wage gaps may be caused by many factors, one of which relates to pay equity. To date, the Office has obtained compensation data from over 500 employers, covering workplaces with over 100 employees.
